Can a costume also be a light? Can the set become a character?

Covid has meant many changes to theatre, but I believe that when presented with restrictions and limitations we can be our most creative. Our audience had to be 2m apart from each other and actors, but this allowed us to break the sacred divide of auditorium and stage space. For a play about non binary and gender fluidity suddenly the boundary between actor and audience was blurred.

This piece started as a series of zoom calls and workshops over lockdown and flourished into a devised verbatim piece, allowing younger audiences to sensitively engage with the topic of gender fluidity…and fish…(look up the Humphead wrasse, their understanding of gender is empowering!)
